sun and skin cancer protection: green tea fights against free radicals and also reduces inflammation of the skin. both animal and human studies have shown increased sun protection when a topical green tea is used in tandem with your regular SPF. while your SPF blocks out the UV rays, your green tea will block out the sun by strengthening your skin.
slow down the signs of aging: don't get this confused with reduced or diminished signs of aging as green tea will NOT repair already damaged or aged skin ... it only SLOWS down the signs of aging. this means you will look 25 just a little bit longer. this is, again, thanks to it's anti-inflammatory properties and also it's anti-oxidant quality. (what's an anti-oxidant? well, an "oxidant" is a group of air pollutants ... not good for the skin. an "anti-oxidant" is a nutrient or enzyme that can counteract and inhibit all that damage the oxidant does. make sense?)
if you want all the benefits of an anti-oxidant like green tea, but don't like green tea, you can also try: blueberries, dark chocolate, red wine, and my personal favourite ... red kidney beans (n.o.t.)
