whether you go away three times a year or once every blue moon, it's common knowledge to any beauty junkie: airplane travel sucks the life right out your skin. all that stale, re-circulated cabin air can do a number on one's skin leaving it dry and tired.
you may have heard of the quick fix of spritzing your skin with a thermal water like Avene or Evian every now and then, which is great as a temporary relief but in actuality, can leave your skin feeling more dehydrated and tight once you step off the aircraft (it evaporates off your skin before it can sink in). your best plan of action is a simple two-fold step:
1. re-hydrate naturally: drink plenty of water before, throughout and after your flight. do away with the salty peanuts and the mini alcoholic beverage from the flight attendant's cart and instead opt for water, water and more water, and a healthier snack like fruit or yoghurt.
- and -
2. apply a liberal amount of your moisturizer, eye cream, and lip balm - and don't be afraid to re-apply as necessary throughout the duration of your flight. if possible, go makeup free too, which in turn makes your best beauty product during airport travel: a pair of sunglasses!
Great post! I always take Clinique Moisture Surge and Olay Regenergist Eye Derma-Pods with me on the plane and apply before take off and landing. My skin looks amazing when I get off the plane.
