do me a favour - try NOT to forget about your SPF summer!
if you happen to have a quick minute while standing at the checkout line at the grocery store this month, do YOURSELF a favour and flip to page 96 in the June 2011 issue of Redbook. they've got 6 easy tips on how to save yoru skin this summer.
my favourite "wow - that totally makes sense - why didn't I realize it before" tip? Mistake no. 5:
"Not wearing sunglasses when we really need them. Most people wear shades during peak sun hours - between 10 am and 3 pm. But at those times, the sun is directly above you, so your eyebrows actually provide shade. In the morning and late afternoons, however, the sun is low in the sky, so it hits your eyes more directly, Wang says. UV light raises your risk of cataracts, macular degeneraton, and eyelid cancer, which accounts for 5 to 10 percent of all skin cancers."
who would've thunk it, right? i'm totally using this as an excuse to purchase a new pair of rayban aviators I recently saw ... and i'm totally thankful that I have not so thin eyebrows.
be sure to check out Redbook Magazine for the full article.
