the answer is very simple.
take care of it.
however, it's not as simple as it sounds.
there is always an advertisement, a new product, a new article about all these skin care items and routines that you need to incorporate. maybe that's true. maybe ... not so much. either way, brides are bombarded with information about what they can do for and to their skin to get it glowing.
here are my top three tips for prepping your skin for your wedding day:
1. stick to your routine ... or get a whole new one: it's best to figure our your skincare routine as soon as possible. if your current routine is not cutting it, ditch it and find a new one. see a dermatologist, ask friends with great skin, do your research. start small by incorporating one new product at a time and observe the results with a keen eye. if a new product is addressing and resolving your skin issues, introduce the next new product until you have your cleanser, moisturizer and little extras (keep them to a minimum) working together. Alternatively, if your current routine is already kick-ass, don't change a thing!
2. you are what you eat. as a bride, you are more than likely already watching what you eat ... even if you are already rail thin (lucky you). at the same time, observe what you are eating and drinking and make sure they are also skin healthy choices. are you drinking enough water? are you eating foods rich in anti-oxidants? and what about foods with healthy fats? while food and drink makes a minor contribution to the appearance of your skin ... every contribution counts!
3. pamper your skin. whether its massages, facials, or even a skin therapy treatment like ours, allow yourself to treat your skin. just don't go overboard and like your skincare routine make sure the treatment works for you. an oxygenating facial with extractions or crystal microdermabrasion with cold laser light therapy can do wonderful things for your skin including revealing a brighter, softer layer of skin for a more youthful appearance, or allowing your makeup to glide on flawlessly for a better makeup application on your big day. having a treatment once every 6 to 8 weeks (think haircuts) until your big day is more than enough.
All brides want to look their best on their wedding day. A healthy lifestyle is a sure way to get the perfect skin on your big day. Eat healthy and get sufficient rest. Having a positive outlook also helps.
